The Basics

Introduction and Basic Description

4-OH-MET (metocin) is a close chemical analogue of psilocin, the active psychedelic in magic mushrooms. As such, metocin has similar effects to magic mushrooms, causing visual distortions and altered thought processes.

Timeline of Experience

The effects of metocin generally begin within half an hour to an hour after administration and last for four to six hours.

Please help develop this section by giving a brief description of the main effects of this drug.

Metocin is almost always encountered as the fumurate salt. Usual dosage for this form of the drug is between 10 and 20 milligrams, although experienced users may feel comfortable using more than this. It is generally good practice to take a smaller "allergy dose" of a new chemical to ensure that no particularly undesirable reaction occurs.

Method of administration

Metocin is generally used orally.

Contraindications and Overdose

Please help develop this section by expanding further here on dosage issues, also flag dangerous combos and combos which make the drug less effective.

Negative Short-Term Side Effects

Please help develop this section by mentioning side-effects experienced during the high/trip/experience e.g sleeplessness on stimulants, teeth grinding etc. Mention any means of preventing these.

Negative Long-Term Side Effects

Please help develop this section by mentioning any possible risks such as memory loss or depression caused by this drug. Provide citations. Remember our goal is harm reduction, so err on the side of being too cautious, but do be clear about how much evidence we have for a given claim.

Addiction and Withdrawal Issues

Please help develop this section by briefly explaining the legal status of the substance, in as many jurisdictions as possible, but focus obviously on BL's userbase: the USA, Australia, the UK and Canada. Feel free to link to external pages which explain the drug classification system in that country.
