Actually that’s not entirely true. I’m in Ontario and I have a genetic disorder that causes me extreme chronic pain condition and I get a really good dose of Kadian 600mg and Dilaudid 80mg everyday, plus I can call my doctor anytime during the week to get a 2mg IV Dilaudid dose (max. 3 per day). I saw a pain doctor a while ago at a pain management clinic for a bit then I got my new GP, she’s a nurse practitioner and is amazing.
I think those people might have actually been put on some list or haven’t done the required exploratory stuff with their doctors if they’re being denied pain meds because I don’t know anyone who was flat out told no after complaining about chronic pain and to just take Tylenol or Ibuprofen.
