Whatever that inherent desire, genetic trait, social compulsion, (or combination thereof) is -- I don't have it, and I never have.
I didn't particularly like children when I was a child and that hasn't changed. I don't hate kids; I just don't much like them. I simply have no desire to have them or be around them.
Yeah, I can take them in small doses but I definitely don't want to be responsible for them.I can relate to your first point, I have never had that overwhelming desire to have children or any desire to have children for that matter. I really like playing with little kids when they are energetic, but in a good mood. what I don’t like is taking responsibility for them
Yeah, I can take them in small doses but I definitely don't want to be responsible for them.
Honestly, I believe that a lot of people just have kids without giving it much thought. Like they just have them because that's what people do.
I've never been able to relate to that attitude.
apparently, there is a global trend of declining birthrates as people realise some of the benefits of having small families or no children at all. some sociologists and governments are concerned about falling population, but I think with the increased introduction of robots and the human jobs they could displace, it’s not such a bad thing after all. Though human behaviour is complex, hopefully a shrinking world population Will force those in power to stop engaging in conflicts like it’s a video game and to start being nicer to their own people.
They won't replace declining births with robots, they'll just import immigrants en masse. That's what's happening right now.
Neoliberal globalists keep talking about how high standards of living will naturally level out the population. That's because it's simply becoming too expensive to have children. I know quite a few people my age in Canada and none of them have kids right now, not one single one. There isn't even affordable housing.
It's got nothing to do with standard of living though, it's about eliminating the middle class. In the 1950s and 60s they needed human capital for economic expansion and consumer capitalism, so they made breeding cheap in order to produce more humans. Now they've got a globalized world full of humans, so they're reigning back the breeding policies and focusing on importing people from other countries. The boon times are gone. It's back to serfdom and paying all your money to landlords, or should I say lords.
Thank you for explaining that. what do you think will happen if the whole world population starts to suddenly decline? there was some conspiracy theorists, popular around the time of the Covid lockdown, that suggested A new world order would emerge via mass sterilisation followed by the majority of workers being slowly replaced with technology. The idea is that The people in power take all the resources under their control, and supply the unemployed population with a certain amount of money and ample entertainment to keep them docile. personally, I don’t agree with that. Whilst I do believe that a New World Order could emerge, those in power seem to have psychopathic tendencies and they would probably make life miserable for us, even if they didn’t need to and it didn’t benefit them in any way.
The NWO thing is being attempted but the people in power are too stupid to do it properly. They will just create a house of cards that destroys us all and ruins any enlightened progress we've made in the past several centuries.
Human nature continues to be the problem. Most people are too weak, distracted, or stupid to realize we just need to behead the snake that is the ruling class. They are such a small group of people.
As you said, human nature is the problem. unfortunately, destroying the ruling class Will just lead to the rise of another, probably more brutal and vicious than the one before. The most classic examples of this are the Communist revolutions in Russia, China, North Korea and Cuba. however, in my opinion, the most interesting and horrific example is that of Algeria. in the 1960s, Algeria defeated the French and expelled the colonial system. unfortunately, the leaders of the independence movement then brought about an authoritarian populist system which did actually enjoy a wide degree of public support and international legitimacy. however, by the 1980s, people were tired of one-party rule and an unstable democratic Government was elected. however, Algeria’s former liberators,, the post independent ruling class still controlled everything behind the scenes. they became Masters of manipulation and in my opinion were infinitely worse than the French ruling class. they proved this in the 1990s, when they used The electoral victory of Islamists as an excuse to overthrow democracy, entirely and institute, emergency law/military rule. The ruling elite then secretly armed Islamists and encouraged them to attack The civilian population. Additionally, the military carried out countless false flag operations. where Army unit dressed as Islamists would slaughter entire families in their homes. furthermore, the military would allow Islamist to attack Socialists and vice versa, depending on which side was stronger at that point. thousands of innocent people were disappeared and tortured by the police using methods that far surpassed those used by the French colonialists. The most common practices were the use of blowtorches and blasting water into the stomach with high-pressure hoses. interestingly, the intelligence agency behind all of this, the DRS had its roots in the independence struggle decades earlier.
I think this shows that revolution alone is not the answer. as you said, people need to educate themselves and work together for our common interest. this will force the ruling class to take us seriously and produce a better world for all of us.
A lot of people who don't have kids are reluctant to admit that one reason for it is not wanting the responsibility. Good to see that there are some who do.I can relate to your first point, I have never had that overwhelming desire to have children or any desire to have children for that matter. It's a herd mentality thing and the fear of going against the norm, having to explain the whys to others who may not understand. Instead they invent reasons like illness or fate or say things like "look at how the world is".Honestly, I believe that a lot of people just have kids without giving it much thought. Like they just have them because that's what people do.
I've never been able to relate to that attitude.
A lot of people who don't have kids are reluctant to admit that one reason for it is not wanting the responsibility. Good to see that there are some who do.
And one reason they are reluctant to is because of this:
It's a herd mentality thing and the fear of going against the norm, having to explain the whys to others who may not understand. Instead they invent reasons like illness or fate or say things like "look at how the world is".
It the world's current condition is a true reason, then the solution would be to try to make it better. And then to have one child (overpopulation is a problem!) and teach them to carry on the "good work".
Being lazy and not wanting to work may be two different things with different causes. But whatever, or whether it's something to be ashamed of or not, being honest to oneself about it is always good. Then you can decide how to act on it, the same way you decide on having kids or not.
Just don't let any pressure gets you. If you don't want to have kids don't end up "having a few to please your woman" but explain your woman, at least at time present it's not an option.Very true. For me personally, I am very proud of the fact that I don’t want children because I don’t want to take responsibility. i’ve been very open about that with my family and those around me. I don’t feel The pressure/shame that I would feel if I was to openly tell people around me that I was lazy and hated work. I think the main reason for that is because being lazy/not wanting to work is usually associated with relying on the charity of others. not having children is a personal choice very likely coming with financial benefits/advantages as well as lots of free time.
