Everyone thinks I'm a miserable twat because I hate Christmas dinners. I mean come on, who really likes Turkey ffs?

If it was that good we'd eat it all year round surely?

Anyway, thought I'd ask my bessie mates on Bluelight what they think...

I like it, but don't have every year. I had a chistmassy dinner this year but it's too hot for all trimmings which in my book are as follows:

Melon, soup or shrimp fucking salad to begin

White turkey meat, bacon, ham, chicken, pork, stuffing, sprouts, carrots, parsnips, cauliflower cheese, brocolli, roast spuds, boiled spuds, mashed dauphinoise spuds, gravy, horseradish, cranberry, salt and pepper, red wine, white wine

Then choice of Xmas cake, Xmas pud or ice cream and regular cream spread over a nice tart

Choice of tea, coffee, biscuits, mints and biscuit cake followed by a whiskey and then begin snacking on leftovers

we will be drinking 2001 leoville barton, veuve cliquot, and i will, if i get my own way (which i should as i'm bloody making it myself) leek and cheese pithivier.

you probably wouldn't like my gravy though i do put a lot of effort in, plenty of mushroom, onion and port/marsala, but definitely no meat. not bisto- though i'll eat that on a weeknight with lindas sausages and mash.
Very good alcohol choice!!
I will be pouring

Thanksgiving isn't a thing outside of USA, so no holiday or turkey then

Many happy returns

My favorite part of Christmas if I'm honest. Ham and turkey with all the trimmings. Finished off with a strong Irish coffee or a decent sherry. Then a shitload of coke.

Me love trifle.

And that's pretty much all I've eaten this Xmas due to appetite suppressants.

Fuckin booze consumption was off the scale though...

i love crimmus dinner.
we had the best one ever this year... maybe that can be attributed to my hunger (both for food and comfort) idk.
good groceries, bruh; good groceries. like grits and shit, ya know? ;✓\

My mate decided to try proper cooking for the first time one year... at Christmas... according to a jamie oliver recipe.

It was a gravy and his family refused to eat it, if I remember rightly his jamie oliver gravy consisted of bay leaves, cinnamon and fenugreek. He was so cheesed.

I just went "well what the fuck did you put any of them in a gravy for?"

"I was listening to Jamie Oliver..."

"Why???"

Christmas dinner is just a glorified roast with a shit turkey the worse thing to roast . Next year will cook it for the kids but im having a lamb chop curry with raita and tandoori roti
