the daily mails review is a winder. i've not even read the review but the title is dynamite.

those reviews basically all say - pish! plus it just looks pish, the whole idea of it is pish & that von triers clown has made a film deliberately to be shocking as fuck, which is just fucking moronic in my opinion

No surprise they don't like it and I've just read their review and its bollocks. The film is not slow and never boring. The film is not confusing at all, its VERY well done, the story moves along nicely building up the tension and keeping things nice and eerie. It is graphic and brutal but there's nothing unnessecary about it, it works really well. It's not tedious either.

I disagree with everything they've written and to give away the ending is pointles.

It's a good film, and it wasn't shocking the story wouldn't be anywhere near as effective. Dunno why that makes him a clown like. :\

Aside from just saying 'pish' maybe you can tell me why you think this films looks so bad? Maybe even try watching it? You've basically just based your opinion on a bunch of tabloid newspapers, who's audience are never going to like this, which is probably why they've rubbished it.
 
i have based my opinion on hearing what the film is about. i looked up those reviews after you asked me who said it was pish. my opinion is not based on those reviews at all. i just don't like films about genital mutilation lol

So where did you hear what the film was about? If you read the synopsis it wouldn't have told you all about genital mutilation or really give much away. Even the trailer doesn't really clue you up on what the films about.

It needs to be seen really. Now you've read the piss poor reviews from the Daily Mail and other tabloids which give EVERYTHING away you'll know the whole story. :\
 
i didn't even read those review mate. i just checked to see if they said it was crap then posted the links lol. i'm not interested in seeing that film & willem dafoe does my nut in

any1 recommend some more clubbing/dj type films?

i'm currently watching some pile of pish called "Hey DJ". it's pretty shite tbh. i've got it's all gone pete tong downloading the now, gonna watch that soon then maybe dig out the human traffic dvd. i'm in pre ibiza excitement mode. 5 weeks on wednesday!!!!!

Watched it yesterday after somebody recommended it in PD ages ago and well pleased that I did cos it's amazing. Not only is it one of the best (and trippiest) looking films I've seen in ages but also genuinely thought provoking.

I didn't realise it was Richard Linklater but all the way through I was thinking of it as "Slacker on Substance D" - turns out it is. The "plot" is very much along Slacker lines but with the same rotoscoped visuals as A Scanner Darkly. Probably even prettier that Scanner Darkly actually.

Stunning film best enjoyed with gentle psychedelia :)

Not a recommendation as such but just saw the following film mentioned on the BBC News. It's a zombie film, filmed using 2 camcorders and cost just £45 to make.

Written and directed by Marc Price COLIN is the first feature film for Nowhere Fast Productions. Starring Alastair Kirton in the title role, it was an attempt by the film makers to produce a low budget zombie movie that offered an original angle on the undead that would be of interest to both fans and newcomers to the genre.

Without funding it was very important from the start of production to make COLIN using more enthusiasm and inventiveness than dependency on a budget to solve any problems (technical or otherwise).

It was difficult trying to come up with an original idea using zombies when everything has been done so perfectly in the films of George Romero, Shaun of the Dead and even non-zombie epics such as 28 days later and Planet Terror. So Nowherefast have always considered COLIN a distant, switched at birth-disowned and adopted cousin of these films.

i tried to watch waking life last night & ended up turning it off half way through. it was doing my tits in big time.

The only costs were a crowbar and some tea and coffees during filming apparently. Impressive.
